- Accelerated (sub one-minute) boot times for VERDE LEAF™ to launch virtual desktops from a USB stick
- Only solution to provides support for Windows and Linux desktops, including Windows 7
- Only solution to offer a choice of on-premise, hosted, and federated deployments with guaranteed SLAs to uniquely meet organizational needs for CAPEX and OPEX containment
“VERDE’s innovation continues to outpace the growing desktop virtualization market, as evidenced by the new benefits we’re delivering in VERDE 4,” said Jim Curtin, Virtual Bridges CEO. “Virtual Bridges is the only solution provider today that can provide cost-effective and comprehensive solutions with technology that has been architected purposefully for today’s dynamic workforce, whether mobile, telecommuting, in branch offices, or working from headquarters. Our growing pipeline reflects a level of interest that we are uniquely positioned to address, based on the business issues that we solve.”
Management and user consoles speed provisioning, access
The new web-based management console in VERDE 4 is the industry’s only open desktop management and provisioning tool, providing administrators with streamlined method to create desktop images in both Windows and Linux environments and assign them to groups or individual users, accelerating desktop virtualization availability from hours to minutes.
In addition, VERDE 4 also provides a web-based user console to launch individual desktop sessions with single-sign on experience for end users.
Multiple display protocols deliver a high-fidelity PC experience
In addition, VERDE 4 includes its unique CloudBranch solution that delivers a LAN-like PC experience for branch office users who are connected over slow and unreliable WANs. Current market data indicates that many VDI deployments are stalling in headquarters because of poorly performing WAN connectivity to branch and remote offices. Virtual Bridges is the only vendor that delivers a comprehensive solution that scales from the data center to the branch office, disconnected-mode laptops, and USB sticks.
“VERDE 4 recognizes that one protocol will not meet the needs of a wide array of users, and this is particularly challenging at the branch office,” said Mark Bowker, Senior Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. “The purpose-based approach provided by Virtual Bridges enables a consistent desktop experience to all users, matching technology with specific workforce segments, and avoiding costly investment in WAN infrastructure build-outs.”
Bi-directional user data synchronization between VDI and disconnected users
VERDE 4 now offers enhanced bi-directional user data synchronization between disconnected and VDI users, resulting in a consistent and ubiquitous desktop experience with latest applications and user data between VDI and disconnected modes, including USB sticks. With VERDE 4, all applications and data follows the user, no matter where and how they may access their desktops, providing connectivity options unmatched by any other desktop virtualization vendor. With user data centralized in the data center, VERDE 4 protects the security of every instance of information on the user desktop.
Accelerated launch time for VERDE LEAF virtual desktop on a stick
VERDE 4 LEAF allows end users to launch their virtual desktops from a USB stick in about 45 seconds. The LEAF allows increased mobility and disaster recovery for end users, while delivering a hardened and secure virtual desktop that is available in both online and offline modes.
Choice of deployment options between on-premise and hosted
In March, Virtual Bridges announced VERDE Hosted™ Powered by Rackspace®, the first and most comprehensive hosted desktop virtualization solution for VDI, disconnected, and branch-office desktop users worldwide.
Complementing Virtual Bridges’ VERDE On-premise™ desktop virtualization, VERDE Hosted addresses an organization’s unique requirements for infrastructure, CAPEX and OPEX budgets, and payment options. VERDE Hosted is specifically targeted for customers that do not want to incur the upfront CAPEX costs of deploying a Desktop Virtualization solution. VERDE Hosted can further drive down total cost of ownership (TCO) beyond VERDE On-premise, today nearly 40 percent lower than any competing solution. VERDE Hosted and VERDE On-premise both offer virtual desktops in VDI, disconnected and branch-office modes.
