Senior Solution Architect

Job Description, Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to work in the area of virtual desktop deployments for Global 2000 customers.

• Be a senior member of an exciting, fast-moving, small services team that brings cutting-edge desktop virtualization software to market
• Position reports to the VP-Engineering, Support & Services
• The position offers opportunities for lots of visibility and rapid career growth
• Will work with Sales, Sales Engineers and customers/prospects to identify deployment requirements and develop solution blueprints
• Is always in touch with current and emerging technologies that will impact the solution architecture for virtualized desktops
• Prepares the detailed solution for customer pilots, production deployments
• Assists in the deployment of the solution at customer sites
• Designs, develops, and tests any custom integrations that are required as part of the solution architecture
• May be required to develop custom code and enhance current product for very specific one-off customer requirements
• Will assist in the preparation of SoWs, RFI/RFP responses. Provides leadership for generating the technical content for these customer-facing documents
• Develops relationships with clients and actively identifies additional opportunities for the account team

• 8-10 years of computer industry experience with a bulk of this experience in technical customer-facing roles
• Deep experience with desktop infrastructure projects with experience in the following areas: Active Directory, Virtual Desktops and/or Thin Clients, Desktop Migration projects, Desktop software distribution and configuration management projects
• Experience with enterprise software products that have been deployed in production environments at Fortune 500 companies
• Fluency with scripting and basic administration skills in a Linux and Windows environments
• Expertise with various Linux operating system distributions like Ubuntu, CentOS, SLES, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with identifying opportunities and providing the technical responses in RFPs/RFI’s and Statement of Work documents
• Comfortable installing applications and configuring the system environment in Windows XP and Windows 7
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and lack of detail. Need to be able to adapt to an environment that is constantly changing
• Experience with hypervisors is preferred
• Familiarity with desktop virtualization and/or thin client technologies like Xen Desktop, XenApp, other Citrix products, VMWare VDI, and related technologies is desirable
• Excellent, proven communication skills with ability to communicate across different levels in a customer organization
• Highly energetic, motivated self-starter
• Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, start-up environment
